Radio

Early Radio Transmitter

Introduction to a Radio

Today, it is very common to see a radio. You can easily find them in the hands of security officers, car dashboards, nightstands, kitchens, and even in the toys of children. A Serbian physicist by the name of Nikola Tesla, one of Thomas Edison’s greatest rivals, was the first to envision the radio. However, he was not able to perfect it. The man by the name of, Guglielmo Marconi, invented the first practical radio. Tesla was a man who thought of many impractical ideas; his ideas were considered far-fetched for the late nineteenth to early twentieth century’s. Nevertheless, it was his ingenuity that lead to many great inventions of our day, such as the radio. The radio is a, somewhat, complicated piece of equipment. But with the proper description, it can be understood by anyone.

How it works

In brief, the radio was a totally new concept of technology when it was invented, it was also known by the name of wireless power transmission. The breakthrough is simply receiving and sending powerfull radio signals that have the same frequency of oscillation. In other words, electrical signals were sent over long distances and were recieved and magnified due to resonant action.
